Flash & Shockwave plugin problem

I must've done somethign a while back to where I might've accidentally
uninstalled both my flash and shockwave plugins. Simply reinstall? It's not
that easy as you think. I have tried several attempts to reinstall these two
plugins. They still show up on a website that uses flash content as if they
weren't installed. How can I fix this problem? Thanks!

Try uninstalling / reinstalling Flash Player. Use the uninstaller at
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
