Firewalls block trafic in network

Q

I have a network set up between three computers: a PC
with a RAID card and two laptops. All with windows XP and
all share ADSL line through a cabled Netgear DG834
Modem/router. Problem is; I have tried 3 different
firewalls: ZoneAlarm Personal, Sygate Personal and
Norton, not all were installed at the same time, but in
turn. All were configured to allow traffic flowing
through the network. Despite this, all three firewalls
blocked both trafic and access to the net. Windows own
firewall was disabled in all three PCs. When those
firewalls were uninstalled, traffic and access to the net
returned! What seems to be the problem? I can't think of
anything else that may be causing this!! Any ideas?

I haven't networked pc's yet but norton firewall has a tab on the Status & Settings Option at the bottom right of the right window click on the CONFIGURE and there is a tab for Home Networking where I presume you add your named computer
would imagine other firewalls have something similar - presume you have to add each computer to every computer

Hi Boriz,
Yes I have configured all three firewalls, including
norton, by adding each PC's Router IP address to the
firewall. Problem persists.
