kill all network traffic

My XP Pro SP2 system is connected to the internet through an ADSL modem.

Short of pulling out the Ethernet cable, is there a way of stopping all
network traffic into and out of an XP machine?

I know about firewalls (I use Windows Firewall), but that's not strictly
what I'm after. What I'm looking for is 100% protection when the
connection is not in use, just for peace of mind.

Ideally, I'd love is a little program that would kill all network
traffic with a click, and then enable it again when needed, for those
times when I'm not on the PC or I am on the PC but not using the
internet (for example, playing games).

Any ideas?

Right click on the connection and set it to disable when you're not there.
