Finepix Viewer Problem

G

Guest

Just got a new Dell PC with Windows XP home edition. I am trying to get the Fuji Finepix Software to automatically download my photos into the Finepix Viewer. I followed the software guide, but it never seems that XP recognizes all the steps. I found out tonight, by accident, that the photos downloaded (I guess by some sore of default) to the Jasc Photo Album software that came on my PC. I really want to be able to activate the Finepix Viewer. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

am trying to get the Fuji Finepix Software to
automatically download my photos into the Finepix
Viewer. I followed the software guide, but it never
seems that XP recognizes all the steps. I found out
tonight, by accident, that the photos downloaded (I guess
by some sore of default) to the Jasc Photo Album software
that came on my PC. I really want to be able to activate
the Finepix Viewer. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Try this

Go to where you keep your pictures in the Hard Drive
Start-Programs-Accessories-Window Explorer find a picture
any picture that is a jpeg (jpg). Right Click on it. Now
click on properties. A box will come up and it will have
two tabs make sure you are in the General Tab. At the
top it will say something like "type of image JPEG image"
opens with and most likely will say your Jasc program.
Click on Change, a list of programs should now come up,
look for your Fuji Finepix program (provided it has been
installed) click on it once to highlight it (if it is not
in the list then you will have to use Browse to find it
in your hard drive. Now at the bottom of the box there
should be a check mark box with the words beside
it "always use this selected program to open this type of
file" make sure it is checked off. If it is already
checked and greyed out that is fine. Now click on ok the
previous box will come up now click on apply and ok. From
now on everytime you open or deal with a jpeg (jpg) it
will open with your Fuji Finepix. Now if you need to
change bmp or gif files to open with the same or a
different program then then repeat the whole process find
a bmp or gif and click on it then go through all the
steps and it will open with the same thing or whatever
program you wish it to.

Now if this is not what you are looking for or I am off
base then just pretend that I never posted this and put
it on ignore.
