File > Send brings wrong emailer

When I click on File > Send (Page or Link) an Outlook Express window opens
in spite of having set Outlook as my default email program. (Tools > Options
in OE shows that OE is NOT the default mail handler). Any advice will be
appreciated.

Using Office Outlook 2003.

In IE | Tools | Internet Options | Programs what is set as the default mail
program?

To set Outlook as the default mail client,- Go to Start, Run - Type in the
following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
For more information on Outlook see:

Thanks, Frank - Running that command fixed it!

Frank,

Same problem, but my IE "FILE>SEND"s are being directed to ThunderBird
(Mozilla mail client). IE is default browser, OE default mail client; I had
already done what is suggested at Slipstick. I've done a lot of research and
tried a number of fixes, including searching the registry. Where does IE
find the action associated with FILE>SEND>PAGE (or LINK) BY E-MAIL" command
???

That suggestion was for Outlook, not OE.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/defaultl.htm

Go to Start | Run and type this command, with the double quotes and spaces:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

and then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both
IE and OE.

If that isn't enough, see this article:
"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:

You might also want to try this:

Ramesh,

Thank you. Your file worked like a charm. I didn't even have to restart
windows.

Now I'm going to print & study your "method" page to see how you did it.
