File doesn't publish changes...

I installed the JWFlash player on my website (www.longtailvideo.com) and for
some strange reason when I make changes to the player's playlist xml file FP
does not recognize it as a modifyed file and will not publish it. I usually
have to go in via FTP to update the file. Any ideas why this might be the
case?

Are you modifying the playlist by opening it in FrontPage? If not, that's
why it is not being recognised as a changed file.
The cure is to open the website in FrontPage, then run Tools->Recalculate
Hyperlinks
This should update the meta data which FrontPage uses to determine if a file
is changed or not. meta data associated with Files edited with frontPage
(and with the web open) is automatically updated.

I am indeed modifying it in FrontPage, that is why I couldn't understand why
it wasn't picking up the changes and publishing the modifyed file. I'll try
recalculating the hyperlinks to see if that helps out. Thanks for the help.
