Favourites keeps on closing by itself

when i have my browser (IE6) open I like to have my favourites showing on the
left hand side. When I click on a link on a website the new pages loads but
the favourites closes.

I can open favourites again but then it closes if I click on a link again
But it only happend about 90% of the time

........

Try the following and see if it helps:

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>check Enable Personalized Favorites Menu
Click OK
Ok out and close IE
Reopen and see if it stays open

Is the pushpin in (locked) or out (autohide). Sometimes toggling the setting
works.

Also, deleting these registry keys *may* help:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects
