Blank Favourites Window

Hi all

I'm trying to open my favourites and the window comes up grey and there are
no favourites listed. No menu appears when I try to click on Add or organise
within the window and a menu from the Favourites button on the toolbar does
not appear either.

All my favourites are listed in my profile in documents and settings so they
have not been deleted.

Can anyone tell me how to rectify this?

Thanks for your response

I have followed the instructions from the recommended 2nd link and the note
there says that the type value should be REG_SZ but on my computer it is
REG_EXPAND_SZ. How do I change this value?

Sorry duh, I got that the wrong way round, the value should be REG_EXPAND_SZ
but on my computer it is REG_SZ.

I have also noticed that when logged on as admininstrator the value is
REG_EXPAND_SZ but not when logged in as a user.
