Favorites totally gone

Both my husband and daughter took a blocking action while
in IE that denies them permission to change favorites
problem is now there favorites are gone it is blank when
you click and they can not add only way to favorites is
through Windows explorer made a shortcut on desktop. They
can not add any either. I know it altered the user shell
folder in the registry but I set back to correct settings
that made no difference for either. Nothing is showing as
being blocked in MSAS. Security agent logs showed they
took the action but I can not reverse for them how can I
get there favorites back. It is a Windows XPSP2 Home
edition unit. I would rather not restore from before I
installed MSAS if there is something better I can do,
thanks.

I don't even think restoring the system will make much
difference either. The files that System Restore can
restore are program files, not personal data
files/preferences, such as your Favorites folder (I'm not
certain though).

You might have to be in your account to reverse what's
been done.

Since the current release is only a single-user app,
these types of problems have been occurring on a regular
basis.

What might be happening to their Favorites is that the
links in their accounts is actually pointing to the links
in your account. I don't know if it's possible to change
the path to point back to their Favorites or not.

Make certain to tell them to read the warning notices
VERY carefully from now on. If they would have read it a
little more carefully they would have seen the name in
the path IS NOT their account, but instead is your
account.

Since the app is only single-user at the current time,
the ONLY account that the app will work properly on is
the administrator account that installed the app. I'm
guessing, an educated guess, that account is yours.

The app will likely support multiple-account scanning
when Beta 2 is released later this year.
