Farcry on a crap machine

Well I run 1024 by 768 at 85 on my 21" CRT.
WHAT PART OF LOOKS GOOD DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? And highly playable.
Must be your friends sub system or something. I built this machine 4 years
for my video editing. I run Farcry from my RAID array so maybe that helps.
Why do people insist on trying to demonstrate their IQ's?

What part of my post didn't you understand? I pointed out that 3DMark05
(which you said you were in the process of getting) has a 2 GHz minimum
system requirement, I said nothing about Far Cry. Besides that I was
agreeing with you, and I was pointing out that in my experience an
equally demanding game, Doom 3, is playable on an even more "crap
machine" with significantly lower specs than yours.
So don't be a nimrod.

Farcry minimum specs are well under your machine specs so dun get excited

Recently installed Farcry on my ole PIII 1ghz w/ a ATI 9600 AIW card.
And low and behold, I cranked the settings to very high and ultra high to
see the so called eye candy, and the game is still highly playable.

I imagine that's a result of the 9600's GPU, as FarCry is probably
offloading as much processing to it as possible.

Yes. I would think so. Plus I have the OS tweaked pretty heavily to maximize
video encoding which cant hurt

My machine is the min spec. recommended.
Being able to play with AA and everything on High, not Very High or Ultra
High mind you (she got a little sluggish during shootouts and had screen
tears I cant live with) is what got me excited.
