Hello
I'm logged in as the Domain Controllers Administrator
Active Directory is running and everything looks OK
except ...
When trying to edit the default Domain Group Policy with
MMC Active Directory Users and Computers I receive the
error
Failed to Open the Group Policy Object You may not have
the appropriate rights
Details: the network path was not found

Can anyone please advise me what to do to solve this?

This sounds like a DNS problems to me...

Check that replication works between the DC:S

Hello Warren
Thanx for youre reply

I checked my tcp/ip NetBios Helper Service and its running
just fine (even restarting this service didnt solve my
problem).
Any other suggestions?
But I was also wondering:
What does NetBios have to do with Group Policies?

Hello Johan,

Thanx for youre reply.
Unfortunately The server on which the error ocurred
was the first of 3 win2000 servers so replication checks
are not in order right now.
Despite that I checked the DNS server service and it
worked just fine ... no errors found.
I didnt have restarted the DNS server but it looked OK to
me.
Anyhow ... I've now demoted the server to a standalone and
am going to rebuild the AD maybe I did something wrong in
the first place.

Thnx again and maybe until another time
I keep you informed in this topic if I have some progress
And if you have another theory plze let me know.
