Failed to load Resource DLL

H

Harry

I get this message now every time I open Internet
Explorer or right-click in Windows Explorer - that's all
there is to the message - no DLL is identified. After
responding 'OK', system SEEMS to run properly with mnor
exceptions. I believe that the situation started after I
installed Norton Systemworks 2004. However, Symantec says
that they have not heard of the problem. How can
this 'missing' DLL be restored?

Hi Harry,

Personally, I'd uninstall Norton's and see if that resolves it. Then I'd set
about getting my money back.

In the meantime, try running "sfc /scannow" from a start/run prompt. Have
your WinXP CD ready as this utility verifies the integrity of the system
file set and replaces any corrupt ones.
