Failed to load resource DLL

Hello All

I bought a new Dell Dimension 9200 with Vista Home installed on it. All ran
reasonably well but now for some strange reason, every time I open Windows
Explorer, Internet Explorer, and a host of other applications I get the
message "Failed to load resource DLL". All there is is an OK button. press
that and the program seems to run anyway.

My question is this: What in heavens name is resource DLL (I know DLL stands
for Dynamic Link Library but have NO clue what this particlar one is, where I
might find it, how I might restore it, etc).

Any help out there? I'd Love to solve this. Thanks for your consideration.

Hi,

A resource dll file is one that a program relies on to run. Apparently
something is trying to run and either cannot locate its required library
file, or the file is located but is corrupt. As it is trying to load with IE
as well as other applications, at a guess I'd say it is likely to be a
plug-in. Close IE and any other running applications. Go to Internet Options
in the Control Panel and click on the Programs tab. Click on "manage
addons", then start disabling those that load with IE. Restart IE inbetween
to see if the message dissappears.

Thank you. That solved the problem immediately. I had techos from Dell
telling me to do the proceedure to make it exactly as it was when I got it
from Dell... thus losing everything I had on it and starting all over again
*shakes head*. Knew that couldn't be the answer. You are a champ. Thanks
again for your wonderful help.

All the best
