i think you will have to download the service pack
crc checking is a method error detection and in your case it showa there has
been an error in downloading the service pack

you can also try to open the executable file in winrarand then try to
extract the files. by this method you will be able to pin point the file
which has got damaged
but still you will have to download the pack again

That update can be installed on any WinXP system. The download
via Windows Update is somewhat smaller in size, that's all.

Really? According to your bad advice you thought that this is a
Windows 2000 group.

Sounds like a bad download. Another option is borrow the SP2 CD from
someone. They were readily available for free from MS and a ton of them
are out there. Or you can order the CD yourself:

Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default810.mspx

Don't be mislead by the title. It's the full SP2 version that can be
applied to any system. It was intended for those who wanted to download
and burn it to CD or keep on a network so it could be applied to
multiple systems, but can be used on any system. It's the same files as
comes on the SP2 CD.
