Can anybody explain to me what purpose the following accounts in
"Documents and Settings" serve?

Default User
LocalService
NetworkService

I am NOT on a LAN.

Default User
LocalService
NetworkService

Default User is a the starting point for any/all users.
Create a new user "Ted" and everything in Default
User gets copied to "Ted".

The other two are common services provided to all
users i.e. services specific to the machine/PC, not to
its users.

Thanks very much for the explanation, Ed.

But of course, that doesn't answer my question. I know they're normal
and are supposed to be there. What I asked was, and I quote:

"Can anybody explain to me what purpose the following accounts in
"Documents and Settings" serve?"

However, Ed Covney answered my question.

Thanks anyway for replying.

Not sure why, but my last response to you didn't appear. At any rate,
yes, I know they're normal and supposed to be there. However, my
question wasn't about this being the case. Rather, my question was and I
quote:
Can anybody explain to me what purpose the following accounts in
"Documents and Settings" serve?

Not to worry though, Ed Covney answered to my satisfaction.
