exporting favorites

Johan

Hi all ,

this is no shocking problem whatsoever, but still maybe someone has an idea
how to fix it...
I use MSIE v6 , on Windows XP sp2 machine, when i export my favorites ( file
/ import/export ...etc ) to a bookmark.htm file there is 1 glich.... that
is that from the "Link-menu" not all folders are exported, for a reason i
dont know only 1 folder and the bookmarks in the root of the Link-folder are
exported...
i export the favorites for backup purposes, and i have my most visited
bookmarks placed in the Link-folder ( so i can access them from the toolbar
next to the address toolbar )

perhaps i just have to work around this with a third party utility , but i'd
prefer to do it from MSIE itself

thnx for any reply

You do not need a Third party utility. Just backup this folder,

Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Favorites

Johan,

You can simply copy (or pack in archive) the whole Favorites folder,
excluding "desktop.ini" and "My Documents.lnk" -- and copy (or unpack)
it later to the new Favorites location: say, to the other computer; or,
if it is a backup -- to the same place.
