Export/Import Favorites Problem

I have primary computer and secondary. I want to put primary computer
favorites on secondary computer. I transfer the exported favorites file
(bookmark.htm) from primary computer to secondary computer by way of external
hard drive. File is on desktop so I know where to find it. I import the
favorites into IE on the secondary computer. Reboot. Check favorites, and
link bar, and they are the same as were there before I imported favorites
from primary computer. This has happened before.

Question-what is the proper way to accomplish what I want? I want to
periodically replace the favorites on the secondary computer with the
favorites from the primary computer using the import/export facility in IE6.
Thanks.

Open it while it's on your desktop and see if it has your favorites listed
before the import.

Now you have me thinking and doing more checking. The file is populated.
And, checking entries in the favorites, they are updated in the secondary
computer favorites. What I am not getting is the link bar is not updating to
be the same as the link bar on the primary computer. So, my question changes
to how do you make the link bar on the secondary computer the same as the
link bar on the primary computer? (Sorry, my confusion.) I know I have done
this in the past, and it seems that it was through the export/import
function. Thanks.

The new items for the Links bar are probably added after what was already
there. Click the double caret at the end of the bar.

Frank,
You're right-click the right arrows, and there are the links. But, it will
be a bit of a cleanup job. It adds the links that are not already on the
link bar. So, if you sort by name, they are integrated. I'll just need to
remove those links that have been renamed and thus are duplicates of some
imported. But, in the future, I'll be able to better do this operation
because I now know how it works. Thanks for the answer. Boni

Open the Links folder in Favorites menu and edit/sort as desired. The
changes will be reflected in Links bar.
