Importing IE bookmarks from other browsers

How can I import my bookmarks from Netscape into IE? There is an Imported
Bookmarks folder in IE but there's little in it, while I have lots in NS. Do I
have to export the NS bookmarks into an IE folder/Favorites?

Thanks,

TJ

oop, my bad.. I forgot to say which versions.. from NS4.8 to IE6 with XPHome..
The first link is for old old IE's and OS's. The second is for browsers,
several of which I have (I'm running Avant now).

I searched the MS KB but only came up with Developer Pack stuff and that was
only for IE5 on a MAC!. Am I going to have to unload IE6 and reload it hoping
it's going to pick up my NS 'marks?

Thanks, teege

Try exporting the bookmarks from Netscape to a folder you've created for
this purpose and then try importing them with IE.

teege,

Have you tried FavTool listed in the PCWorld site?

Favtool

Have you ever wanted to switch browsers but were worried whether your
bookmarks would survive the move? This utility converts your bookmarks from
Netscape Navigator to Microsoft Internet Explorer and vice versa

I can get NS to export, but to where and how do you get IE6 to import them?
There isn't an IE6 import path/file button?

Once you've exported the bookmarks to a folder you have created by using
Bookmarks/Manage Bookmarks/File/Export in Netscape, open IE and go to
File/Inport Export and go through the Wizard until you can browse to the
folder you created and import them.

Personally, I think you would be better off with Firefox but that's another
subject.

You can use the Import/Export Wizard that is included in Internet Explorer
5.0 or later to import or export favorites and cookies. You can use the
Import/Export Wizard to perform any of the following tasks:

•Import existing Netscape Navigator bookmarks from a Bookmark.htm file.
•Import exported Internet Explorer Favorites from a Bookmark.htm file.
•Export existing Internet Explorer Favorites to a Bookmark.htm file.
•Import existing Netscape Navigator cookies from a Cookies.txt file.
•Import exported Internet Explorer cookies from a Cookies.txt file.
•Export existing Internet Explorer cookies to a Cookies.txt file.

To start the Import/Export Wizard, click Import and Export on the File menu
in Internet Explorer, and then follow the instructions on your screen.

YuDaMan!!! Ok, when I went to the PCWorld page i missed that there was a link
at the end of the paragraph about importing. All I saw was the list of
browsers.. Got it d/l'ed, ran it, and they're now in it. Thank you very much!

No, like I said, it's called Import Export. If you click on that a wizard
will pop up and you can take it from there. Glad to see you got it sorted,
though.
