Explorer windows open too wide

I just started using a 20" wide LCD monitor. Internet Explorer (6) windows
now open all across the screen as if to match the width/height ratio. Quite
annoying. Any help?

Hello,

Are you using the LCD at the native resolution?

Nevertheless, closed all IE windows and open an IE window. Resize it as
desired. Close it. When you open it again, it should be in the same size as
you closed it.

For IE instances opened from links within email and web sites, open one
IE window, drag the edges till it's the preferred size, then close the
window. Also try closing the window while pressing the Ctrl key.
Usually this will help Windows remember the preferred size. It'll be
changed occasionally, when a popup window is opened with specific size,
and you'll have to do this again. Another suggestion:

- Open a webpage. Shrink to the preferred size.
- Choose any link on that webpage and right-click, open in a new window.
- Shrink that second window to the desired size.
- Close the first IE window. Then close that second resized window.
