Explorer missing and no Icons

Hello, and thanks for looking

my son stated he tried to delete a google task bar and he deleted the
explorer file thinking it was part of google

I've tried to Control/Alt/Delete and run "explorer"
but nothing happens other than the screen blinks and nothing new appears.
still no icons or task bar

When I went to type explorer on the dropdown list, I also saw where
evidently he had also been to
the regedit file.
I do not know what he might have done there

I would run the system restore but I can't get anything to show except the
wallpaper
Is there anything else I can try?

Try Start>run>%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe which is the system
restore.

if you cant get anything to run try booting straight into the recovery
console press F8 repeatedly at startup then its sumtime called repeair youre
pc? i think. from there you can launch the system restore function

actually just thinkin about thats probably only there because it was
manufacturer installed ap but you can get onto the recovery console with the
windows xp cd
