I just downloaded the trial version of AVG AV 2011.

I entered in Define Excluded Extensions:
*.mp3;*.mp4;*.flv;

So how come it insists on still scanning my mp3 files one by one?

Have you tried their support forum?

One by one? If I'm not mistaken, the exclusions are for the resident
scanner, not for the filewalker - and some (file/directory) exclusions
are geared only for the "Potentially Unwanted Programs" (Pups) not
actual threats - but people who actually use it will have better
answers.

Support forums are usually a waste of time.

I don't understand your 2nd paragraph at all. Firewalker?

Exclusions are exclusions from scanning. So why is it scanning these
files?

Went through all the settings. Found the problem. I had to set
TOOLS|ADVANCED SETTINGS|RESIDENT SHIELD|EXCLUDED ITEMS.

You have to fill in paths to the directory or files to be excluded.
