Hi all,

I'm not sure if I'm being dumb (hence the username) but I want the fraction I enter into a cell to stay as a fraction.

This relates to mixed fractions such as 9/4 5/2 7/4 etc (yes it is sports odds based).

I know you can enter it as a text but I want the number to stay as the fraction 5/2.

Is this possible and if so how do I do it.

Thanks in advance all.

Welcome to the forum! :)

You need to change the formatting - highlight the relevant cells, and right click on them. Select Format Cells from the drop down box, and then click on Fraction. You can then pick which format you want.

If you need to keep them as improper fractions (ie 9/4 instead of 2 1/4) then you'll need to select 'Custom' instead of Fraction from the format cells box. Type ??/?? into the text box and then click ok, and it should hopefully work for you.
