How do I get excel to NOT auto reduce fractions.

Part 1) I'm trying to enter data as a fraction, but excel auto reduces the
fraction. It's for basketball, attempts/made. Example...
2/4 is 2 shots made out of 4, but when I put in 2/4 it turns to 1/2, and so
on with other entries.

Part 2) After I get that working I need to add the fractions, with out them
becoming whole numbers and what not.

If all this isn't possible, I can just use two seperate columns, but I hope
this can work.

If you put that data in separate fields, you're life will be much easier.

You'll be able to determine percentages easier. You'll be able to get team
stats easier. I've found it always better to put different information in
different fields/columns.
