EWF Error 1

G

Guest

Hi All,
I am trying to make a system that can boot from flash. I followed all the
instructions from "Configuring EWF RAM Reg Mode". When I try running "ewfmgr
d:", I get the following error:
Error 1: Failed getting protected volume configuration

I have a 80 GB SATA HD for my first disk (c: drive, disk(0)). My flash is my
d:
drive.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Bill. In addition to Bing's troubleshooting steps, I'd like to also
recommend that you try the XP Embedded Feature Pack 2007, available for
download from the MS Connect site (see our Embedded Blog at
http://blogs.msdn.com/embedded for details on how to participate in the
Community Tech Preview). This Feature Pack includes native support for RAM
(Reg) mode, configurable directly in Target Designer, so that the additional
steps in the MSDN instructions are no longer necessary.

Hope this helps. :)

Just to confirm what Matt said. The EWF RAM Reg mode is indeed working like a charm in FP2007.
No more pain with EWF :)
