EWF Error 1: Failed getting protected volume configuration

R

Ronald D. Fellman

I am trying to make a system that can boot from flash. I followed all the
instructions from "Configuring EWF RAM Reg Mode". When I try running "ewfmgr
d:" on my new system just after FBA and a reboot I get an error saying that
it cannot find my volume configuration.

I have a 80 Gig HD for my first disk (c: drive, disk(0)). My flash is my d:
drive. I set drive to 1 and multi(0)rdisk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1) in the
ArcName registry setting.

Any ideas?

Ronald,

Beside the problems with EWF you should first solve unusualo ARC path
problem and volume letter.

Where did you do FBA? On flash, on HDD?
Anyhow it would be good if final flash destination was something like C: and
multi(0)rdisk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
Disk that BIOS use as boot disk (AFAIK) is always multi(0)rdisk(0)rdisk(0)

Regards,
Slobodan
