event viewer details missing?

Q: How do I get information back after clicking the link in "Event
properties" box?

In the: event viewer>event properties there is the link "For more
information, see Help and Support Center at ...."

Clicking on the link the" Help and Support Center" opens BUT it is
(sporadically)blank!! No information - no details -no user action- displayed.

A) What could be the cause?
B) How do I get this information back? (Help and Support Center displaying
event details)?

Please note: Am a kind of a Newbie ,simplicity and practicality to solve
this would be in your answer greatly appreciated.

You might encounter problems if you are Offline rather than Online when you
click on the link. Put Internet Explorer or Outlook Express Online before
you try.

There are many Error Reports where Microsoft cannot provide further
information
through their automated response. You can do your own research using Google
and

http://www.eventid.net/search.asp

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/ee_advanced.aspx

Alternatively post copies of Error Reports here where there are a limited
number of
individuals who will try to help.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
