event id 7000 in XP Pro

In XP Pro event viewer shows a message saying a service PFMODNT failed event
id 7000. On looking this up in technet it states a service failed and to
check with Dos prompt. I did this and the return was
Kernel driver stopped Win32_exit_code :2
Server_exit_code : 0
The problem is there is no hint as to which service has failed. I have
reset all services to start automatically hoping this would shed light but
to no avail. I have run security and setting Audit and everything passed.
The only other problem with the machine is that it occassionally freezes. I
am hoping that someone has an idea.
