Event ID 7 source cd rom

Recently my cdrom stopped working on my 3 month old
Toshiba laptop. The drive still plays dvds but will not
read or write to cd. I've noticed that every time I try
and run a cd an error is logged in System Tools\event
viewer\system that says:

"the device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block"

Please somebody help me Urgently !!! Thanks in advance
