About a week a and a half ago my cdrom stopped working on
my 3 month old toshiba laptop. The drive still plays dvds
but will not read or write to cd.I've noticed that
everytime I try and run a cd an error is logged in
System Tools\event viewer\system that says "the device,
\Device\CdRom0, has a bad block" please somebody help
me !!! Urgently thanks in advance

About two weeks ago I suddenly started having the exact
same problem. I am looking for answers also.
My events error log says:
The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block

I can listen to audio CD's and I can read information off
cd-rw that I made. I can retreive information off these
previously two mentioned. I can not, however, view the
contents on any CD-R disks. The disk is not bad because
I can go to another computer and read the contents.
