error with msdtc...second try can someone please respond to me???

When I try to access msdtc I get an error the event log:
The run-time environment was unable to initialize for transactions required
to support transactional components. Make sure that MS-DTC is running.
(DtcGetTransactionManagerEx(): hr = 0x8004d01b)

When I try to run it from services, I get
Error 5: Access Denied.

If I try do to a:
msdtc -resetlog
I get an error message
Command prompt - msdtc -resetlog
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instructuion
CS:0ab7 IP:000c OP:0f 04 4b 01 0f Choose Close to terminate the application.

Please help me.

sorry, I can't help you but in your earlier post you said you are MSDN
subscriber. If this becomes a "big" problem there is an 800 number you can
use to open a support request, read your MSDN materials to figure this out.
You will get very good and prompt assistance when you choose this route.

This newsgroup is one of the "public" forums and nobody is required to reply
to this post. This is an "all volunteer" newsgroup, that is not moderated by
microsoft. Some of the private newsgroups are moderated and you'd have
better luck getting help there. Sounds to me like the "access denied"
problem has to do with permissions.

One of the suggestions that has helped in the past, is to uninstall and
reinstall the troubled component. Also, if this is XP SP2 related, there
are some KB articles that references ports/settings you need for MSDTC.
