Error with mimboot.exe & applicationlauncher.exe

When my computer starts up I get these error messages. I have an old Dell
Dimension 3000 running Windows XP home.

Mimboot.exe - entry point not found (same for Applicationlauncher.exe)
The precedure entry point _ismbcspace could not be located in the dynamic
link library MSVCR71.dll

All the info above is the same for the Applicationlauncher.exe, I get
separate error messages. Everything stops until I hit the ok buttons. I'm
assuming I need to download these again? If so where do I find them? And
then where do I need to install them on my computer?

Thanks for your time!

Mimboot is from Music Match Jukebox and Application Launcher is probably a
preinstalled Dell program. If you don't use either program, uninstall them
from Add/Remove Programs. Otherwise, remove them from your Startup:

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]

This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab and
find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK
out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll
get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box that says in
effect, "don't bother me about this again".

Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop processes.
Instead, use Start>Run>services.msc [enter] and do not stop any services
unless you really, really know what you're doing.

Thanks for your help Malke. I uninstalled Music Match and the mimboot.exe
error has disappeared BUT I still get the applicationlauncher.exe error. Is
that associated with another program?

Oh wait I just did what you said with the System Configuration Utility and
noticed the applicationlauncher is associated with Sony Ericson which was a
cell phone I had and that program never worked for me and recently got rid of
that phone. So I'm going to uninstall that program and try reboot again.

OK my Control Panel didn't list the program so I tried to reinstall it and
the program said it was installed so... I grabbed all the program files and
trashed them. Will that cause a problem? I hope not. BUT that did stop the
last error message. If what I did causes a problem I can restore them from
the trash and of course in that case you'll see me back here asking for help.
If there's anything you need to add to this go ahead but thanks for all your
help!
