Error trying to import contacts

When I try to import contacts in Windows Mail (File > Import >Windows
Contacts) I get a pop-up window with a red cross (X) in it. I can close the
Window and there is an Okay button but that's it. The pop-up window has no
title or means of identification and, of course, I cannot import contacts
because I cannot get past this window.

Help!

I had previously tried and, I thought succeeded, in importing contacts from
Outlook 2000, which I then uninstalled. But my previously imported contacts
don't seem to be there.

I have the same problem with a HP laptop preloaded with Vista and am
currently waiting for a reply from HP tech support who is "researching
the matter". In my case, I was never able to import any contacts.
Importing Outlook 2000 contacts into my desktop Vista Windows Contacts
was successful. I certainly hope that this does not also become a
problem on the desktop. If I find out anything, I'll publish it here.
