Error on Print Server

Hi,

Every morning I get the following error on my Print Server. Until I click
"OK" some of the print jobs will not print. Once I click OK the queue will
clear. The message is:

"The print spooler was unable to connect to your printer. This can be caused
by your printer being turned off, the cable being unplugged, or being
connected to a VPN, which will block your access to your local network."

I have checked all the aboue suggestions and they are not the problem. Any
help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott Anderson

I am also receiving the message, it occurs multiple times per day on our
primary Win 2003 File and Print Server. It is an HP 4000 with a
JetDirect Card via TCP/IP. JetDirect 3111A, Firmware G.05.35. Printer
driver installed is for XP, 2000 and 2003. Workstations are running
2000 Pro.

We are receiving that exact same message on our Windows2003 fileserver
We are running HP4000 via Intel Netport, also HP4200n and 2 x H
5100dtn

It appears to affect the 5100's the most.

I think it must be a HP error, I've installed the printers using the H
Network install printer wizard downloaded from their site this week
Possibly thats causing it?

After some digging i discovered one of the HP5100's had bee
disconnected from the LAN by a user (doh!)

It must be an error message from the updated HP network isntall printe
wizard software relating to an offline printer.

I am getting the same error on my Windows 2k3 servers, I eve
reinstalled my printers on a different server. I am also having t
"restart" my print queue at least once a day. I am having the sam
problem on two different servers, both running windows 2k3, I hav
moved 1 printer to a Novell server and the problem did not follow, so
am sure this is not printer related and since I am using the sam
printer drivers on the workstations I pretty sure it is not drive
related.

Has anyone else moved thier printers to other servers? Is everyon
running windows 2k3? Anyone having this problem on a 2k server?

We are also having the same problem but on our Win2K server, I have installed
a printer using the standard TCP/IP port instead of the HP Jet Direct port
and still get the error. Turning the printer off or disconnecting it from the
network can also invoke this. Does anyone have any more information or a
possible fix to this problem because it is driving us nuts?
