Hi David,

I'm by no means an expert in User Profiles or USERENV Logging, but if
you're getting the following event in the Application Event Log:

Event ID: 1000

Category: None

Source: Userenv

Type: Error

User: NT Authority\System

Computer: The domain controller

Description: Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. Return
value (14).

Then you may need to enble enable USERENV Logging as outlined in article ID
221833 and/or dump out the memory.

We have found in past cases through debugging a memory dump, that
Symevent.sys installed on a servers was responsible for a 64MB non-paged
pool memory leak consumption over a period of 4 days. Disabling this
anti-virus filter driver resolved the customer's issue.
