I am not sure this is the right subject but can not find
a heading for my problem. When I signed on windows it
kept popping this message up: messenger has encountered
a problem & needs to close sorry for the inconveience.
May loose info you are working on. Please tell microsoft
about this problem. Created error report that you can
send to us...send error / dont send. Well I have sent
and sent close to 50 times or more. I did a virus scan
and no virus. Removed messenger from my computer and it
did it with my yahoo messenger which I uninstalled also.
Please help me!!

I have this same problem and have just worked on it for about 5 hours. I have disabled windows messenger, and messenger service every way I can possibly think of but I keep getting that message every minute or two. I read where you could cause harm to other programs if you uninstall it, and it doesn't want to let you, but there are some uninstall programs on the internet. One has a patch to go with it, that says it will prevent Outlook Express from messing up when you uninstall windows messenger. I haven't tried to uninstall it, just disabled it, which everything I have read said should do the trick, but it hasn't. I'm hoping someone will eventually post the cure, otherwise it's reinstall.

I worked on it about 7 hours last night. I uninstalled
windows messenger and msn messenger. At this point I
haven't put them back on. I did uninstall yahoo
messenger and put it back on. It still is doing it. I
have done everything I know to do, plus downloaded all
the windows updates. I don't use outlook express just
outlook and the same time all this started happening with
the messengers outlook started messing up. It really
upsets me cause I have only had this computer about a
month. Like you, I am hoping somebody out there has the
answer. I don't think uninstalling and reinstalling is
the answer. Last night my AIM did it, but today AIM
doesn't do it...ICQ doesn't do it either. When I figure
this thing out (wishful thinking) I will for sure let you
know!

I too have been having the same problem for about a week
now. I have done everything the previous folks have
tried and still have the same problem.

The only information I have is as follows from the
details of the error report:

AppName: aim.exe
AppVer:0.0.0.0
ModName: rtcdll.dll
ModVer:5.2 4949. 1001
Offset:00070f54

Help anyone? Thank you!
