ERROR MESSAGE USING WINDOWS MAIL..PLEASE HELP?!

I cannot send out message through windows mail. I'm thinking during the set
up process that I had messed it up somehow...just not sure where. When I am
trying to send out an email I get the following message through a pop up
window:

YOUR "SMTP" SERVER HAS NOT RESPONDED IN 60 SECONDS. WOULD YOU LIKE TO WAIT
ANOTHER 60 SECONDS FOR THE SERVER TO RESPOND?

ACCOUNT: COX.NET
SERVER: COX.NET

So, I do "wait" and still the same message appears...Not sure what an
"account" is or "server." Please help?!

Thank you for the new info. However, I did insert the data that was given
to me my my ISP, but it still does not work. I am now getting the following
message:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'Windows
Mail', Server: 'smtp.west.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 250, Secure(SSL):
Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Please help me again!?

Thank You,

Wrong SMTP port. It should be 25 instead of 250.
Also, the SSL option should *not* be enabled.
You can change those two settings by going to Tools, Accounts,
select that account, Properties, Advanced.
