I'm hoping someone out there in the ether can help me!
When I view certain websites I get the "Internet Explorer
cannot open the Internet site http://******* - Operation
aborted" error, which is very frustrating. I've checked
Microsoft's "Knowledge Base Articles" to no avail.
Specifically article 241344, which is supposed to deal
with the problem.
The article states that "The information in this article
applies to:" and it lists every Windows OS since 95 but
nowhere does it say anything about this error in XP or
how to fix the problem. It did mention problems occurring
when the following files were damaged, duplicated, or
missing; Winsock.dll, Wsock32.dll, or Wsock.vxd. I did a
search on my computer for these files and found all but
the Wsock.vxd file. Does XP no longer use this file?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
