Page not displayed error

When I try to open IE 6.0, I get an Error 4.0: page not displayed error. My ISP connection works, my proxy buttons are clear, and I have removed all duplicate copies of winsock.dll, winsock32.dll, wsock32.dll, wsock.vxd from my files, but I can't get IE 6.0 to open up. What else can I try? I need help from you good folks.
