Error Message cannot find User32.dll

Paul Pierce

Yahoo says this is not their problem. That is why I am coming here. I am
trying to upgrade to Yahoo Messenger 8.0 with voice. Here is the
message: Could not load the DLL library C:\Windows\User32.DLL. The
specified module could not be found. Someone had suggested to
re-register my DLL's. Any ideas?
Thanks.

User32.DLL is normally found in the %systemroot%\system32\ directory
(typically C:\WINDOWS\system32\ and not in C:\Windows\. Tell the folks
at Yahoo that they goofed. Try placing a copy of User32.DLL where it's
looking for it (C:\Windows) and see what happens. (Copy it from the
System32 folder).

Hi Paul,

Not necessary. Start by searching for User32.dll using Search. See where the files are located.

Next, use BelArc Advisor. Latest is 7.2a. Make sure that kb890859 Hotfix has been installed, correctly. You may need to reinstall the Service Pack. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html is where you can download the Advisor from.

Run the BelArc Advisor and see what it saids.
