Error message cannot find system32\rundllexe

When I try to open Add or Remove Programs I get a message saying Windows
cannot find C:WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe this also happens when I try to
open the Security Center. I cannot access the programs I want to delete. Can
you help please? I am not very computer literate I'm afraid

Click Start, Run, type SFC /SCANNOW, click OK. If any files are damaged
or missing, they'll be replaced. You may need to reboot afterwards so
damaged files will be replaced.

I got the same message as Leslie, but when i do as Elmo says start, run,
sfc/scannow ..... I get windows cannot find sfc/scannow ... now what do
I do????
