error message 808:qqtask.exe. - No Disk

Z

zeno s.

Whenever I boot up my computer a window pops up that
states:

808:qttask.ex.-No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into
drive /Device/Harddisk2\DR5

However, I have no new devices or harddrives. When I
search device manager I do find an unrecognized device in
the category of network adaptors. I have two network
interface cards on my computer that are working, but
there is no third network card. In any case the
unidentified device is disabled and cannot be
uninstalled. Any advice?

I think that file is referring to Quicktime. You could try uninstalling it
and reboot to see if the message goes away, then install it again.

This refers to the Quicktime updater. You don't need to uninstall
Quicktime. Just open Quicktime and go into its Preferences and set the
automatic update to "no" and "no" to showing the system tray utility.

Open Quicktime, Go to File>Open Recent>Clear Menu

or

It's a Quicktime file. Anytime you have a card reader or
USB drive attached to your system and start Quicktime it
records those drives the next time you boot if they are
no longer present it will give you that error. Go to
msconfig and un-check "Quicktime Task" from your startup.
Next time you use the quicktime player it will put it
back in. As long as the drives remain the same it will
not give you that error.
