error log msg

have an IBM ThinkPad with Windows 2000. Very often (too
often), the thing locks up when I turn it on. My only
option is to unplug it from all power and start over
again. When I checked the event log, I see this error
message frequently:

I've checked the site here and I can't find anything. I
even resorted to re-loading the original configuration and
files from the mirror of the hard drive. Any ideas on how
I can fix this? Thanx.

BB - sounds like a failing hard drive. Get the downloadable drive
analyzer utility from IBM (should be a bootable diskette image) and
report results to IBM tech support. If that's the problem, you'll
probably get a replacement drive at no cost.
