device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1, did not respond within the timeout period

S

Scott Townsend

Our SQL Server had some issues last night. It was no longer responding to
DB qiueries.

Looked in the System Event log and found the Errors listed below. The first
talks about not being able to talk to the IDEport1 device. From there its
all hmio hard drive errors. In Drive manager it looks as though someone
just disconnected the Data Drives for our SQL Server. The Two Mirrored Data
drives came up as Missing.

Upon a reboot, it was able to find the second of the two mirrored drives.
the First drive reports errors.

Is this normal when a drive in a mirror fails?

Any Assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott<-
