Error 800ccc0f while accessing secured (SSL) newsgroup

I'm using my brand new PC with Vista Ultimate to access mail and news.
Evrything is OK except to access secured (SSL, port 563) news server. When
Windos :ail try to download the newsgroup list, I quickly get an error
messagebox telling the connection has been interrupted by the server
(protocol NNTP, port 563, SSL:1, code 800ccc0f).

I've successfuly tryed to connect to the server using telnet and it work. So
it is not a firewall problem.
I also tryed this command line: netsh int tcp set global
autotuninglevel=disable. No change.
Accessing the same newsgroup from a different XP computer and OE6 works
perfectly.
Accessing the same newsgroup from a virtual machine on the Vista computer,
running XP and OE6 works perfectly.

Any idea about what to check and/or change ?

The "=disable" should be "=disabled".

I know nothing about secure NNTP, so can't help you with that.
Any possibility your firewall or antivirus is interfering?

Uninstall your Anti Virus software completely. Then reboot. Install the Anti Virus again BUT WITHOUT the option of having the email scanning for incoming and outgoing email NOT selected. Try and see if everything works. Also do you have any Anti Spam filtering working?

Thanks Peter.

My anti-virus (F-Secure V7) doesn't scan emails.
Anyway, the problem occur already when Windows Mail try to download the list
of newsgroups from the server and at that time no anti-virus intercept
anything.

It looks as though Windows Mail does not accept some older flavours of SSL
because they are no longer considered to be sufficiently secure; and on the
other hand some older News servers do not (yet) support the newer SSL
flavours...

Apparently there is a similar issue with the Thunderbird 2.0 news reader...
