error 1933

I recently installed Windows XP Professional on my
machine that previously had Windows 2000 Professional. I
am trying to install Office 2000 Professional and I keep
getting this error message:

Error 1933: The Windows Installer service cannt update
one or more protected windows files.

I've already tried setting the SFC_disbale key in the
registry to 1 didnt work.

I copied the Fpencode.dll and Fp4autl.dll from the Office
2000 cd to the program files\common
files\msshared\websrvex\40\bin on the hard drive and it
didnt work.

HELP!!! I need Office 2000 to work on this system tell
me what I can do please.

Thanks for the help but unfortunatley it did not work
either. I dont know what to do anymore I think I may
just return to Windows 2000.

Ok I tried those fixes and I downloaded the WI.zip three
times and it only downloaded an empty zip folder. The
other fix that you said to download did not work
either. What is happening is that it asks for the
Windows XP Professional CD during the Office 2000 Setup
so I insert the XP cd then it gives me the 1933: windows
installer service cannot update one or more windows
protected files and it ends the installation.

I think I'm gonna just go back to Windows 2000 at this
time cause I really need to get Office working cause I'm
a web designer and I use Frontpage 2000 a lot.

Thanks for your help.

Service Pack 1 it took like five hours, but I was able to
install Office 2000 it works very well now

Glad it is working. SP1 has fixed a lot of issues I believe.
Backup you download in case you need it one day.
