I received error 1721 when installing business contact
manager after doing an upgrade to windows xp and office
2003. Microsoft does not seem to have any info in the
knowledgebase about how to solve it. Anyone have good
ideas?

Thanks!

Is there any text with the error message sucha s "not enough resources" or something else? The code 1721 means different things in different contexts.

Can you give us some particulars about your environment?

Athena:

The message indicated that certain files Business Contact
Manager needed to complete its installation were not
present. I did not write down the exact message.

I had recently upgraded from Windows 2000 to XP; upgraded
from Office 2000 to Office 2003. Both installations were
completed and work properly, except for the Business
Contact Manager.

The first thing that BCM setup does is look for the .NET framework. If it isn't already on the machine, it installs that then proceeds with BCM setup. Was the framework successfully installed on your machine?

The easiest way to tell if it was installed is to go to the "User Accounts" category of the Control Panel and see if you have an account for "ASP.NET".

Yes, the .NET framework appears under the user accounts
and appears to have been installed correctly.
