endless "verify user name and password"

Hi all
I'm trying to set up Windows Mail and Outlook 2007 to use an email box in a
new website. I have two email boxes with different passwords on the same
site. The first account in Windows Mail worked... but the second, set up the
same way, will not. I get repeated Windows Security dialog boxes with "verify
user name and password" until I cancel the dialog which returns the following
error:

Account: 'mail.mysite.org (1)', Server: 'mail.mysite.org', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR authorization failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I'm using Vista 64-bit which has always been exceedingly careful about what
programs it will allow to run... but the places to adjust that are obscure.

Is the problem in Vista-64 security setting? Turning off the Norton Internet
security makes no difference.

If I import the one account that works in Windows Mail into Outlook 2007
(and check that all of the settings are correct) it doesn't work in Outlook.
The same endless Security dialog occurs.

What am I missing here?

Thanks

Norton security products are among the top three troublemakers for
Windows Mail. First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the
reason explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Disabling the Norton program is often insufficient. If so, do a trial uninstall,
followed by using their debris removal tool:

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://download.live.com/wlmail

Reading the endless discussion threads about bad antivirus software led me
to delete my Norton software completely and buy the recommended Avast product
which I installed Without the Email and Outlook modules. I still have the
same problem. It is suggested in places that I download Live Mail... but it
seems silly to sign up for a Yahoo account to get into my own website. Still
looking for an answer.

Problem solved:

The Network Solutions web mail program when reached directly asks for a
"username" and then a password. I enter "myname" for the username. Their
system then adds "@mysite.com"
BUT
When configuring Outlook to go to the Network Solutions site the "username"
needs to be the full name "(e-mail address removed)" because their software adds
nothing to that field.

somehow these little details get lost in the instructions

for what it's worth

I wonder if my old Norton Antivirus would have worked just as well
