Hi,

How can I enable NETBIOS over TCP/IP when using a PPTP connection ?

NOTE:
-all windows 2000 clients behind firewall can form vpn connection to remote
server but CANT ping any nodes
-all windows XP clinets behind firewall can form vpn connection to remote
server and CAN ping nodes
-windows 2000 clinet on stand alone dialup can form vpn and CAN ping
-have tried with use default gateway on remote network checked and unchecked
-windows XP has ENABLE NETBIOS checked.

Any ideas anyone ? im flumixed !

Thanks
Scott

Its so annoying as when i run IPCONFIG /ALL the ppp adapter shows:

IP 192.168.1.60
SubNet 255.255.255.255
Gateway 192.168.1.60
DNS 192.168.1.7
DNS 192.168.1.3
WINS 192.168.1.2

So its obviously picking up network addresses perfectly.

Is there any fundamental difference with XP PRO and WIN 2K in the way the
use PPTP ? i.e it could be my firewall blocking something that 2k requires
that XP pro does not need ?

Ether this or netbios prob.

Cheers
Scott.
