Enable folder view for FTP sites

I setup a proxy and have to disable the IE option "Enable
folder view for FTP sites" in a number of machines with
different Windows version.
I found the IE option may not be appeared in some browser
even full installation has been selected during IE setup
(IE 5 or 6).
Also, I found that the effect of that option may just be
reversed in some machine, anyone come acrossed that?
Is that there are some IE patches which will change the
effect of the option "Enable folder view for FTP sites"
after applying?
Please advise.

i have came across this problem also.
i have a number of PCs with NT 4, SP 6a, IE 6 (SP1)
installed. However, i can't find the option "Enable folder
view for FTP sites" in the "Advanced" meun. Anyone knows
what's the problem ?? I urgently need to access FTP site
through the IE browser.
