EMBED FONTS IN FRONTPAGE

G

Guest

I have a website built in frontpage. I did most of the construction within
the design view, although i can read html a little.

My question is how can i embed fonts in my website so that all viewers can
view these fonts if they dont have them downloaded on their own machines?

Thanks,
Matt

You can't. Don't try. Use web safe fonts.

There is a program called WEFT that purports to embed the fonts, but (1)
it only works in IE (when it works - which isn't often), and (2) it
still requires the viewer to download the font. Most people will NOT
want to download a font just to see your web site (takes time, uses
space on their machine, and is a security risk). They'll go elsewhere.
Since you WANT people to view your pages, don't do things to force
them elsewhere.

This can be done BUT!!!

You might rethink what you want to do.
1. While on a dial-up connection do I / will I wait for the "Font" to
download?
2. Do you think I will install anything from your site (virus?) with out
requesting it?

This might drive away more people than you think!

Learn how to make 'font gifs' for titles etc.
Have you EVER been to a site that asks you to download a font? I never have.

I've logged on to a couple dozen sites that wanted me to download
their special font. I hit the back button at once. I have all the
fonts I want & need and NO SITE will be worth me looking at if it ask
me to download ANYTHING before I see the site.
